Home Educated Young People
Parents: are you looking for GCSEs or other courses for your children?
This programme is aimed at learners aged 14-16 who are studying at home. Learners will be required to choose at least one core subject, English and/or Maths, which may be taught over 1 or 2 years dependent on the outcome of initial assessments. Additional GCSE options are available, as well as other examination/accredited courses. New learners to the College are also required to enrol on and complete the Level 1 Award in Personal & Social Development.
The College cannot accept applications from young people who have been excluded from school.
How to Enrol
New Learners will need to enrol on the taster course. Please see the course description for more information. Before enrolling on the taster, learners and their parent must attend an interview with the Curriculum Manager for theHome Educated Programme and places on the taster course are dependent on a successful interview.
Returning learners – enrolments are subject to an interview with the Curriculum Manager for the Home Educated Programme.
Interviews
Interviews will be conducted on the following dates:
- 4 & 5 July 2011
- 2 & 3 August 2011
- 1 & 2 September 2011

No enrolments will be accepted for the Home Educated GCSE courses until after the Taster Course.
Enrolment on other GCSE and exam classes will only be accepted with the agreement of the Curriculum Manager and will be subject to successful completion of an initial assessment. Learners may also be invited for an interview with the Curriculum Manager and/or subject tutor approval prior to enrolling. Please note: some courses are only available for learners who are 16+. Please check the course outline before enrolling.
Course Fees
These fees apply to Home Educated learners under 16. Learners over 16 are welcome to enrol but will need to contact the College for details of fees.
The cost of qualification courses (inclusive of exam fees) will be: GCSE: £440
GCSE Science: £505
A-Levels: £515
The cost of all other courses including the 2 year GCSE options will be advised on application. You may be able to apply for some financial support towards the cost of these courses through Bexley Trust for Adult Students (BTAS). Application forms are available from College reception and should be completed on enrolment.
