Guidance

The Adult Careers Guidance team is based at the Brampton Road site but the qualified careers advisors work at all the College’s main sites and many community venues. The Guidance team offer assistance to learners to help them make considered decisions about courses and future careers. The Guidance staff can offer individual interviews, group work sessions and computer aided guidance. Help and advice can be obtained on applying for courses / jobs, writing cv’s and on completing application forms successfully. There is also information available on a range of occupations.
The Guidance Service is free and impartial.

Open Study

The Open Study Centre based at Brampton Road is open to all Adult Education students. If you need to improve your computer skills, would like to find out more information about courses or need careers advice, then the Open Study centre is for you.
The centre offers support using:

  • internet access and e-mail
  • keyboard practice
  • course information
  • information on job search skills and cv's
  • adult directions and careers software
  • careers information

The information is free to learners apart from a nominal cost including paper, printing, colour printing, laminating, photocopying and discs.
